Athens, Greece-based Olympus Airways has had its wish come true and is now the proud owner of its first B757-200 (P2F). This is not only an excellent Christmas present, but also means
that they will be starting out in the air freight business in the New Year.
EASA-approved Olympus Airways (OLY) is a pretty new kid on the block, founded on 07APR15 – the same year in which its new cargo plane was retired from the American Airlines fleet.
It sets its focus on the European, Middle East and African markets, providing both charter and scheduled flight networks, and has wet lease, short-term and ad-hoc business with a variety of
carriers.

This is Olympus Airways’ first freighter, bringing the number of aircraft in operation up to 7 – and the first Boeing in its otherwise uniform A319 and A321 fleet.
Almost exactly 28 years since it first took to the skies, on 20DEC91, the registration MSN-25294 plane was delivered to Olympus Airways on 06DEC19, having previously undergone conversion at
Phoenix Goodyear Airport. It landed in Athens on 07DEC19, bearing its new Olympus Airways’ livery, after a nine-hour flight from PSM – Portsmouth International at Pease Airport, and will soon
have its registration changed to SX-AMJ.
More fleet additions are on the Christmas list.
