ERA head office, UK, 12 December 2017
- Montserrat Barriga, ERA Director General and Henrik Hololei, the European Commission’s Director-General for Mobility and Transport, met today in Brussels to discuss current and future challenges for European aviation.
- The meeting was part of the European Regions Airline Association’s (ERA)* ongoing work to ensure that the views of the association’s members are continuously represented at the highest levels in Europe.
Henrik Hololei, the European Commission’s Director-General for Mobility and Transport, commented: “We had a very good discussion. The Commission is always keen to listen to the views and ideas of regional airlines that make it possible to connect Europe by air, through their day-to-day operations. Our Aviation Strategy for Europe places increasing connectivity as one of the key priorities which fosters contacts between people and cooperation between businesses.”
Montserrat Barriga, ERA’s Director General, said: “ERA is at the forefront of European aviation, driving forward and influencing the strategic future of the business. We represent our members’ interests by interacting with key European regulators on their behalf. My meeting today with Henrik Hololei further strengthens our ongoing communication with the European Commission and demonstrates how, through ERA’s representation, our members have a strong, collective voice at the highest levels of Europe”.
