More ships for Evergreen

Evergreen Marine Corp has entered into an agreement with Shoei Kisen Kaisha today to charter twelve 11,000 TEU class containerships

The charter parties were signed by EMC Chairman Mr. Anchor Chang and President of Shoei Kisen Kaisha Mr. Yukito Higaki. The new agreement comes on top of last week’s news that Evergreen has ordered eight 11,000 TEU container ships in Korea.
The plans to charter another 12 vessels were approved early last month at the Board meetings of EMC affiliates Greencompass Marine SA and Evergreen Marine (Hong Kong) Ltd, which will each charter six vessels.  All twelve ships will be newbuildings and are due to be delivered from Q3 2020 through to Q4 2021.
The ship dimensions are about 333.9m long and 48.4m wide, able to carry 11,850 TEU with a deadweight of 127,000 tonnes at a scantling draft of 15.5m. The vessels are designed to sail at a service speed of 23 knots and can pass through the Panama Canal.
